---- — URBANA — Sandra Kay “Sandy” Jarling, 69, passed away at her home in Urbana earlier this week.
She was born on July 23, 1944, in Danville to John and Eloise (Zander) Jarling.
Sandy leaves behind her sisters, Susan (Fred) Snyder of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Sylvia (Steve) Cook of St. Cloud, Minn.; niece, Paula (Jeff) Kanning; nephews, Matthew (Brandy) Snyder, Kenny (Danielle) Snyder, John (Julie) Cook and Mike (Ann) Cook; great-nieces, Emily, Sarah and Zoey; great-nephews, Brock, Josh, Braeden, Ryan and Elliot; and her close friend, Betty (Bill) Schneider.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew Steve Snyder.
Sandy graduated from the Concordia Teachers College with a bachelor’s degree. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed the many friendships she formed throughout her life.
Sandy liked to go on vacation and, if possible, would have made Disneyworld her home. She loved spending time with her family, especially all her nieces and nephews, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville, with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Entombment will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville is handling arrangements.
