Betty Lou Reffett, 85, of Danville, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013, at Carle Hospital in Champaign.
She was born July 29, 1927, in Indianapolis to William I. and Katie M. (Baker) Walls.
Betty married Charles “Snip” Reffett on March 2, 1946, in Georgetown. He preceded her in death in December of 1963.
Betty graduated from Georgetown High School. She was a member of South Side Church of Christ in Danville. She retired from Illinois Bell Telephone after more than 20 years as an operator.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond (Peggy) Reffett and Randy (Kay) Reffett, of Texas; four granddaughters, Michelle (Chris) Miller, Teresa (Mike) Sims, Paula (Dustin) West and Angela (Jason) West; one grandson, Aaron Reffett; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins and many good friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, one sister and one daughter, Lori Ann.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 22, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor Kevin Ziegler officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, and one hour prior to the service on Friday, all at the funeral home. Betty will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
