DANVILLE — Otis Leroy Williams, 38, of Danville, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Aug. 9, 1974, in Danville, to Stephen Leroy Williams and Mary Ann (Keith) Grimes Johnson. He married Erika Lynn Arlington Aug. 14, 1994, in Danville. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Mary; four children, Dylan Jacob, Nicholas Michael Thomas, and Taylor Elaine Williams and Marc Landers; brother, Randall Wayne Johnson, Jr.; sister, Amanda Lynn Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Thomas “J.R.” Arlington and Margie Arlington; brothers-in-law, Thomas Arlington and David (Connie) Arlington; five nieces; five nephews; one great-niece; a special nephew, Justin Arlington; and many dear friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Williams and Mr. and Mrs. James A. Grimes.

Otis was a strong man and a fighter, a loving husband and father. His wife and children meant the world to him, and he loved to be with them. Other than his family, Otis also enjoyed building things with his hands, and especially had a passion for woodworking. He loved his church family at the Second Church of Christ where he was a member. He also liked fishing, watching NASCAR, educating his family with the History and Discovery channels and working in his yard tending to his rose bushes.

A service to celebrate the life of Otis Williams will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Second Church of Christ in Danville. Drew Mentzer will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Second Church of Christ. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville is in charge of arrangements. Per Otis’ wishes, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to his family.
