Julie Anne Drake, 49, of Danville, passed away at 9:52 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 20, 1963, in Danville, a daughter of James Lee and Vivian Marie Brown Packard.
She married Bruce Ryan Drake Oct. 3, 1981, after being together since the age of 13.
Bruce survives, as well as her mother, Vivian (Frank) Hoskins; a son, Joshua Ryan Drake; a daughter, Shanda Lynn (Jeremy) Drake Kearns; a sister, Janet (Ray) Miller; a brother, Steve Packard; a nephew, Duane; two nieces, Lindsay and Courtney; a sister-in-law, Glenda Beasley; and her dog, Petey, all of Danville.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Julie was a 1981 graduate of Danville High School and an LPN at the Veterans Affairs hospital for 16 years. She ran a day care from home at one time.
She was a member of East Park Church of Christ. She also was a member of Lynch Fire Department Auxiliary and volunteered at C.A.R.A. Animal Shelter.
She enjoyed cake decorating, collecting American Girl dolls and especially loved spending time with her children and husband. She always did whatever she could to help anyone.
Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at East Park Church of Christ, with Pastor Dennis Floyd officiating. A lunch and gathering will follow services at the church.
