---- — WESTVILLE — Glenn O. Starwalt, 86, of Westville, quietly passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at his home, with his wife by his side.
He was born June 7, 1927, in Deland, Ill., to Hugh and Murna (Oakley) Starwalt.
He married the love of his life, Margaretta Starwalt, of Cave-In-Rock, Ill. She survives.
He is survived by his sons, Steve (Donna) of Danville, Darrel (Karla) of Georgetown, David of Tilton, and Donny (Donna) of Lovington; his daughters, Glenna (Arnold) Hooks of Westville, Kathy (Randy) Pichon of Danville, Carolyn (Wayne) Campbell of Manton, Mich., and Terrie (Chris) Chambliss of Westville; his special adopted son, Tony (Debbie) Barney; and grandson, Jordan Barney; brothers, Carl (Evelyn) and Harry (Judy) of Toledo; sisters, Maudie Sowder of Mattoon, Gladys Burley and Roberta Conrad of Toledo and Katie (Lee) Michlig of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister.
Glenn proudly served in the U.S. Army from August 1945 to December 1953. He worked at General Motors in Danville for 36 years, retiring in 1991.
He loved fishing, working on cars, building and racing go carts, garden tractors or anything that had a motor. He was a skilled watch repairman and carpenter. Glenn loved spending time with his children and grandkids.
As per Glenn’s wishes, there will not be any services. He will be cremated by Sunset Funeral Home, and a private family service to be held at a later date.
