Clive T. Chesrown, 78, of Danville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams, Danville, with Father Deus Byomuhangi officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:30-1 p.m. on Wednesday. A private burial will be at a later date.
Ted was born Aug. 2, 1935, in Redmon, Ill., to James and Marjorie (Martin) Chesrown. He attended Redmon schools and later went on to work as a machinist at Hyster for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. Ted enjoyed fishing and hunting, mushroom hunting, gardening and attending ball games. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time with his family.
Ted married Betty Towell on June 26, 1954, in Paris and the two have shared 59 years together.
Also surviving are four children, Michael (Terrie) Chesrown, Brenda (Bill) Phillips, Cindy (Stewart) Mercer and Carla (Billy) Bormann; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Chesrown; his three sisters, Juanita Pickering, Norma Snyder and Pat Ogden; and a grandson, Joshua Michael Bormann.
The family wants to thank Dr. Labayog, Dr. Bobat and Dr. George Gindhi and all of their staff as well as the nursing staff at Presence ICU for taking exceptional care of Ted.
