GEORGETOWN — Jack Leroy Dawson, 57, of Georgetown, passed away at 8:35 p.m. in the emergency room at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.

Jack was born Oct. 31, 1955, in the hills of Powell County, Ky., to Isaiah and Jenny Gay Dawson.

Surviving are one son, Jason (Amy Hooker) Dawson of Tilton; two brothers, Tom (Judy) McIntyre of Tilton and Isaiah Dean (Diane) Dawson of Georgetown; two sisters, Sue (Don) Sweringen of Danville and Bonnie Jo Dawson-Dixon of Atwood; two grandchildren, Zane Dawson of Georgetown and Emma Dawson of Tilton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jack enjoyed playing PlayStation, cards, especially Poker, and fishing.

He was a caring man who always was willing to help those in need. He loved spending time with his best friends, Michael and Al Thompson.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation rites were accorded.
