Sally Ann Seyfert, 70, of Danville, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at North Logan Health Care. A visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville. There will be no public services. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2509 South Neil Street-1, Champaign, IL. 61820.
Sally was born in Danville on Nov. 26, 1938, to Augusta Emma (Pate) and Russell Dye Enos. She attended Danville grade schools and DHS, graduating in 1956 and going on to attend SIU and earn a legal secretary certificate. Sally worked as a supervisor for Southern Illinois Dermatology Associates and as an office manager for Thomas P. Hyde Oncologists. She lived many years with her devoted cat by her side, and enjoyed being the “Cookie Lady” of North Logan Health Care. She was also a member of the Red Hats Society.
Sally married Kenneth Wayne Seyfert on Oct. 3, 1956. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 2002. Sally and Kenneth had five children, all of whom survive: Jeffrey (Valerie) Seyfert, Ricky Seyfert, Sharon Seyfert, Angela (Kenneth) Brown, and Russell (Tracie) Seyfert. She also is survived by 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a special daughter-in-law, Mary Seyfert; a sister, Frances Andrews; two sisters-in-law, Ilene (Marian) Grimes and Shirley (Bill) Lazell; a brother-in-law, Larry Seyfert; and a very special friend, Carol Reitz. Sally was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of over 45 years, Kenneth; a sister, June Kedas; and a brother-in-law, Robert Wright.
