SULLIVAN — Richard L. Hatfield, 60, of Sullivan, formerly of Potomac and Rossville area, passed away at 10:25 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Mason Point, Sullivan.

Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Partlow Cemetery, Armstrong. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Burial will be in Partlow Cemetery, Armstrong.

Memorials may be made to the Jonathan Creek Christian Church or to the donor’s choice.

Richard was born Nov. 19, 1952, in Danville, the son of James R. and Wanda E. (Iungerich) Hatfield.

Richard graduated from Potomac High School and then graduated from Eastern Illinois University. He started his career teaching at Bethany High School and finished his career at Agri-Fab, Sullivan. He was very fond of the Sullivan area. He attended Jonathan Creek Christian Church.

He is survived by his sister, Millie Justice of Kansas City, Mo.; brother, Pete (Caryn) Hatfield of Rossville; lifelong friend, Doug Goodwine; and special friend, Kay Webb.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
