Edward E. Houston, 58, of Joliet, formerly of Chicago, passed away July 10, 2013, at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Joliet.
He was born on Oct. 6, 1954, in Chicago, the son of Edward and Norma (Garroutte) Houston.
He is the beloved husband of Cindy Houston. She survives.
Surviving him are his wife; one brother, Robert Houston of Ridge Farm; two sisters, Sue (Tom) Wood of Chicago, Stephanie Houston of Danville; one stepdaughter, Wendee (Robert) Gull of Joliet; and one step-granddaughter, Kyle Gull. He was loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins, all knowing him as “Uncle Ed.” He had one very special friend, his dog Harley.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Russell Houston; one sister, Belinda Houston Canner; and one dog, Smokey.
He was born and raised in Chicago and was a truck driver all his life.
A celebration of Ed’s life will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at Atherton Cemetery in Danville, with Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville. Burial will be held at Atherton Cemetery.
