Connie Turpin, 77, of Fairmount, passed away suddenly at 5:08 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, in the emergency room at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana.
Connie was born Jan. 30, 1936, in Danville to Fred and Esther Mason Fitzsimmons.
She married Wayne Turpin in Fairmount, and he passed away in 1983.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Catherine (John) Kuczera of Champaign and Lisa Ann O’Neil of Loxahatchee, Fla.; one brother, Bob (Brenda) Fitzsimmons of Vero Beach, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Scott Davis of Danville and Jerry Davis of Danville; one sister, Carol (Jon) Latoz of Chrisman; one stepsister, Marcia Bolser of Catlin; and four grandchildren, Kalin Richardson, Trent Richardson, Emilee Kuczera and Shannon O’Neil.
Connie enjoyed drinking coffee with her friends, gardening, working at the Fairmount Lounge and watching black and white movies as well as enjoying animals.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Friday at Robison Chapel in Catlin, the Rev. Mike Roberts to officiate. Burial will follow in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Homer. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at Robison Chapel in Catlin.
