DANVILLE — Betty L. (Trees) Middleton passed away at 8:05 a.m. EDT Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at The Waters of Covington in Covington, Ind.
She was the daughter of Leal G. and Lucille E. Freeman Trees. Betty was born on Dec. 16, 1925, in Chrisman.
She married Thomas F. Middleton on June 1, 1946, in Danville.
They had three children, Larry Middleton of Danville, Janice (David) Armpriester of Saylorsburg, Pa., and Patti (Wayne) Walker of Holder, Ill. She also had six grandchildren, Michael A. Middleton Sr., Teresa A. Asbury, David Acton, Stacey Leon, Jason Walker and Jennifer Walker. She also had nine great-grandchildren, Melanie Middleton, Joshua Middleton, Hailey Middleton, Michael Middleton Jr., Tyler Asbury, Keegan Asbury, Calvin Leon, Grace Leon and Ellie Leon.
She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband; three brothers, Leland Trees, Keith Trees and Billy Dean Trees; one sister, Mary Ann Walker; and a grandson, Jason Walker.
She was employed by General Electric for 22 years, retiring in 1976. She was a faithful member of First Assembly of God and then later The Pleasant Grove Church.
Her many hobbies included gardening, sewing, crocheting and taking care of her many flowers. But the most important part of her life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She prayed for each and every one of them daily.
A service to celebrate the life of Betty L Middleton will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville. Pastor Doug McCord will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Monday, April 7, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Church.
