James E. “Jim” Creason, 70, of Danville, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the Danville Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
Jim was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Danville to Clifford G. and Lucile Kick Creason.
He married Myrna A. Woodard on Sept. 19, 1964, in Danville.
Myrna survives, as well as two sons, Scott Creason of Oakwood and Tony (Dawn) Creason of Rossville; one daughter, Sheri (Dave) Beck of Danville; two brothers, Clifford (Sarah) Creason of Indiana and Donald (Jane) Creason of Fithian; three sisters, Pat McCulloch of Indiana, Delores (Lee) McCord of Oakwood, and Valerie Nickel of Danville; seven grandchildren, Andy Beck, Megan (Dustin Sims) Beck, Taylor Beck, Brandon Creason, Samantha Creason, Sydney Creason and Camdyn Creason; two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Creason and Piper Creason, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by one brother, Earl, and his father-in-law, Wilford R. Woodard.
Jim served in the Navy and worked for more than 10 years as a salesman in the heating and cooling department of Sears. He was an Oakwood High School graduate and enjoyed hunting with family and playing cards with his friends at the Fithian firehouse.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Veterans Affairs Protestant Chapel with the Rev. Patti Wise officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the National Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the Protestant Chapel.
