Mildred “Millie” Ann Butler, 81, of Danville, died 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at The Waters of Covington Nursing Home in Covington, Ind.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville, IL 61832 with Raymie Gordon officiating. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Tuesday at Pape’s. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Millie was born Jan. 16, 1932, in Danville to Delbert and May Rosemary Logan Cundiff. She grew up in Germantown and attended Fairchild Grade School, Danville High School and Utterback-Brown Business College.
She and her husband Jack had owned and operated several businesses in the Danville area, including the Dixie, Illiana, Skyway and Churn Drive-In theaters. She enjoyed traveling, spending time in Fort Lauderdale, gardening, automobiles and motorcycles. She had attended Dr. Kennedy’s church in Fort Lauderdale.
Millie married John “Jack” Austin Butler on Jan. 13, 1988, in Pompano Beach, Fla., and he preceded her Jan. 26, 2002. Surviving are two children, Nancy S. Allison and John (Eva Mullins) Butler Jr.; four grandchildren, Robert (Nancy Love) Allison, Ryan (Allison Kay) Allison, Mildred Ann Butler and Rosa Mae Butler; a sister, Linda Sue Sims and a brother, Ralph Cundiff.
She was preceded by her parents; her first husband, Lee Cline Baldy Newell Jr.; four brothers, Edwin, Donald, Jackie and Clifford; son-in-law, Gary Allison; and a brother-in-law, Fred Butler.
