WESTVILLE — Norma Jean Ellis, 79, Westville businesswoman and owner and operator of Ellis Trucking, passed away at 9:16 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at her home.

She was born May 15, 1933, in Westville to Joseph A. and Ruth Smittcamp Irwin.

Norma married Raymond F. Ellis on Feb. 1, 1949, in Danville.

He survives as well as one son, Robert (Sue) Ellis of Westville; two daughters, Harriett (John) Nelk of Westville and Rebecca (Bob Pipes) Ellis of Danville; four grandchildren, Rae Leigh Sloan, Christa Ellis, Jeffrey Barfell and Jessica Barfell; seven great-grandchildren, Sadie Plecker, Christian Plecker, Cheyene Drake, Zachary Sloan, Jesselynn Drake, Lily Mullins and Jaimie Mullins.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph L. Irwin Jr.

Norma worked for Snower’s Sewing Factory for 20 years, but really enjoyed truck driving and operating Ellis Trucking. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and dancing.

Funeral services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Robison Chapel.
