---- — Eva Marie Davis, 90, of Danville, passed away at 8:26 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.

She was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Danville, the daughter of John and Atha (Edwards) Potter.

Eva first married Charles Holycross; they divorced. She later married James W. Davis in 1952. He preceded her in death in May of 1999.

Surviving are one son, Charles (Bobbi) Holycross of Seguin, Texas; one daughter, Patty (Jim) Ingram of Georgia; five grandchildren, Greg Holycross of Paris, Ill., Dan (Karen) Holycross of Texas, David Holycross of California, Doug (Kirsten) Ingram of Georgia, and Tracy (Bob) Melton of Danville; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Jones of Texas, Breanna Holycross of California, Zac Holycross of Texas, Trevor Holycross of California, and Mackenzie, Carrigan and Dax Ingram of Georgia; nieces and nephew, Penny (Larry) Holycross, Judy Sanders, Ellen Peck, Nancy Potter and Jerry Anders; and numerous great- nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Dale and Andy Potter; and two sisters, Lena (Roy) Anders and Betty (John) Pataki.

Eva worked at G.E. and later was a hairdresser for many years. She was a member of Farmers Chapel Church, Frontier Twirlers, and a lifetime member of Weight Watchers. Her hobbies were crocheting, sewing (especially their square dance outfits) and crafts. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother.

The family would like to thank extended family Mary Holycross and Eva’s special neighbors Bonnie and Larry Cook, Teddia and Jeremy Salter, and Joey Davis.

Visitation for Eva will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville. A celebration of her life will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, with Pastor Jan Reeder presiding. Eva will then be laid to rest with her husband in Danville National Cemetery.
