He was born the son of Eugene and Mary (Steeples) Haddix in Martinsville on May 10, 1937.

On July 8, 1959, he was united in marriage to Shirley Ketchem in Chrisman. She will miss him dearly.

Bud was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army 1959-1962. He was a lifelong farmer who never met a stranger. He enjoyed tractor pulling as well as antique tractors. He loved being outside in the woods, riding his four-wheeler and finding buckeyes to give away. He really enjoyed going fishing on his trips to Canada.

He attended Chrisman Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. One of his greatest pleasures was that he spent 40 years on the Burnside Family Trust Farm. Above all, Bud loved spending time with his family.

A celebration of Bud’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Kenny Bass and Paul Del Valley officiating. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery, Chrisman, with military rites conducted by American Legion Dornblaser Post 203.
