Allen Wayne McMasters

WESTVILLE — Allen Wayne McMasters, 64, of Westville, entered God’s Kingdom, where he feels no pain and only sees beauty, at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.

Allen was born Dec. 27, 1948, in Danville, to William and Maymie Raymann McMasters.

He married Ivy Swaney on Sept. 12, 1998, at the home of his brother (Jerry and Shari) of Westville. Ivy survives.

Also surviving are four children, Sean (Sherrie) McMasters of Florida, Allysyn (Frank) Harders of Seneca, Ill., Anthony (Cindy) Swaney of Lennox, Iowa, and Ashley (Chuck) Swaney of Danville; three brothers, Larry McMasters of Monticello, Ill., Jerry (Shari) McMasters of Westville, and Bill (Kelly) McMasters of Bismarck,; two sisters, Melinda (Kevin) Wagle of Catlin and Penny (Troy) Pate of Georgetown; 11 grandchildren (the cores of his heart): Caleb, Abbie and Brandie of Florida, Sieara, KateLynn and Michael of Illinois, and Gracie, Cody and Hannah of Iowa, and Jordan and Lane Allen of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. He has been reunited in Heaven with his parents; his brother, Bob “Rosey” McMasters; and a great-nephew, Landon McMasters.

Allen was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War from September 1969 to September 1970. Most of his career was spent working in road construction.

Allen’s favorite pastimes were fishing and camping with Jerry, Vaughn and Craig. He loved having his grandchildren out there with him so that he could teach them the art of fishing. He enjoyed spending hours playing with his grandchildren and watching as they ate all his sweets and drank all his Sunny D. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the NASCAR races.

Funeral services: noon Monday, Sept. Sept. 16, at Robison Chapel in Catlin with Dick and Sandy Graves officiating. Burial in Lithuanian National Cemetery in Westville with military honors by the Westville American Legion. Visitation: 10 a.m.-noon Monday at Robison Chapel in Catlin.

Memorials to Carle Hospice or the Carle Cancer Center. Online condolences at www.robisonchapel.com.
