DANVILLE — Fausto “David” C. Fuentes, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully the morning of Sept. 5, 2013, while surrounded by family at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
Born Feb. 18, 1932, in Tasquillo, Hidalgo, Mexico, to Ricardo and Rosa (Corona) Fuentes, he pursued his dreams of further enriching his life by immigrating to the United States where he proudly became a U.S. citizen.
He settled in Danville where he married his wife of 55 years, Jeanenne Kelly, to whom he was completely devoted. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, Matthew and Mario Fuentes and Angie Coffey of Danville; grandchildren, J. Squires, John, Maria, Anthony Jr., Shiena, Marco and Nicholas; one brother, two sisters and many nieces and nephews, all residing in Mexico.
Fausto was greeted in heaven by his son Anthony M. Fuentes Sr.
Known throughout the community as a dedicated family man and respected business owner, he operated the H&L Rug and Furniture Cleaners for 36 years with his wife before retiring from Danville Area Community College after 15 years. He helped establish several organizations to aid Latinos new to the community. He enjoyed tennis, swimming and bicycling and watching sports with his children and grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the ICU staff at Presence hospital, especially Dr. Bobat and Father Deus Byomuhangi, for the comfort they provided.
A celebration of Fausto’s life will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville, with Father Deus Byomuhangi officiating, and burial at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. A visitation will be held from 4-8 on Thursday, Sept. 12, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville.
