DANVILLE — Donald W. Pfeifer, aka Barney Fife, 75, of Danville, passed away at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Danville.

Don was born May 4, 1938, in Duluth, Minn., to Fred and Margaret E. Hanson Pfeifer.

He married Gloria Ann Sharp on Jan. 6, 1962, at St. Patrick’s Church in Danville.

She survives, as well as one son, Todd Pfeifer of Westville; one daughter, Tina (Harold) Lipowsky of Westville; one step-brother, Don (Nola) Horness of Minnesota; one sister, Mary (Jim) Bailey of Washington state; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother and one step-sister.

Don served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Illinois Power for 20 years.

He was a member of the Westville Sportsman Club. He loved music, coin collecting, model trains and railroads, and his computer.

Funeral services: 7 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Robison Chapel. Casual attire is appreciated. Following the services, cremation rites will be accorded and burial at a later date.
