Calvin W. Shuman, 65, of Danville, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1947, in Danville, the son of Emery and Geneva Nier Shuman, both deceased.
He was wed to Carolyn Moody, but was later married to Beverly Gephart on June 4, 1999. She survives.
Other survivors include his son, Tim (Bethany) Shuman of Danville; his daughter, Tina (Jason) Howell of Danville; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Ashley and Dustin; his great-grandchildren, Alisa and Zoey; his brothers, Jerry Shuman of Tilton and Randy (Carla) Shuman of Oakwood; his sisters, Carol Brant of Tilton and Darlene (Mark) Lewis of Danville; and many nieces and nephews.
Calvin worked for Western Brickyard in Danville and also at Mervis Industries for many years before retiring. He loved working outdoors, talking on his CB radio and visiting with people. He was a big fan of the Beatles and collected their memorabilia.
Calvin will be cremated, and a memorial gathering will be at a later date. Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel assisted with arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the family to assist with purchase of a headstone.
