---- — KINGMAN, Ind. — Harry T. Walters, 66, of Kingman, passed away at 3:55 p.m. EDT Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 31, 1946, in Charleston, the son of the late Hazel Jones Walters and Marion Walters.

He married Donna Holycross on June 23, 1980, in Silverwood, Ind. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Jerry (Milee) Walters of Kingman, Ind., Roy (Kristina) Walters of Jamestown, Ind., Penni (Ryan) Burns of Clinton, Ind., Matthew Walters and James Walters, both of Cayuga, Ind., and Jaime Walters of Kingman; father- and mother-in-law, Dewey (Nancy) Holycross of Silverwood, Ind.; six grandchildren, Madison, Bryce, Gavyn, Greydyn, Olivia and Dreyson; sister-in-law, Patty (Sam) Mitton of Kingman, Ind.; brother-in-law, David (Darla) Holycross of Hillsdale, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Earla Ann Walters.

Harry retired from General Motors — Tilton Foundry in May of 1992. He was a Vietnam veteran serving with the United States Army. Harry was 1964 graduate of Kingman High School.

He was a 35-year member of the Kingman Volunteer Fire Department. Past memberships included the Kingman American Legion Post 384 and the Kingman Lions Club. Harry formerly served as Kingman Town Marshal and was very active with the Kingman Little League in his early years. Harry enjoyed helping his community and being involved with activities.

Funeral services: 10 a.m. EDT Saturday, Sept. 14, at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Ind. Officiating: Ken Majors. Burial: Kingman Fraternal Cemetery, with military rites by the Kingman American Legion Post 384. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. EDT Friday, Sept. 13, at the funeral home, with memorial services by the Kingman Volunteer Fire Department and the Indiana Volunteer Fire Fighters Association beginning at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
