Jonnette C. Tyner, 68, of Danville, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012.
Jonnette was born Oct. 21, 1944, in Decatur, the daughter of John H. and Bernice (Maronto) Stephens.
She married Lee Tyner on Oct. 8, 1967, in Danville. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1995.
She is survived by one daughter, LeeAnna (Tom) Turner of Oakwood; one stepdaughter, Vickie (Dave) Caudill of Tilton; two brothers, Dan (Sandy) Stephens of California and Mike (Peggy) Stephens of Florida; three grandchildren, Landon Turner, Olivia Turner and Shane Woods; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a special shopping friend, Frannie Rodgers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Jonnette graduated from Lakeview High School in Decatur in 1962. She worked as a directory assistance supervisor at Ameritech for over 30 years.
She was a member of Pioneers of America and Holy Family Catholic Church.
She loved shopping and was most excited when she received a 30 percent discount at Kohl’s or got great bargains at T.J. Maxx. She loved going to sporting events, spoiling her grandkids and their friends and meeting the ladies for breakfast.
A Mass of Christian burial for Jonnette will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville, with Fr. Ted Pracz officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
