Anna Galan recently passed away at her home in New Orleans, La., at the age of 100.
Anna was born on July 14, 1912, to Anna and John Auskalnis.
She spent her entire life in Westville until her move to New Orleans to live with her daughters, Barbara and Elinor, 14 years ago.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Al (Logg) Galan; her daughter Barbara Bayliss; grandson Steve Bayliss; granddaughter Barbara Nicholson; sisters, Jenny Sutton, Bertha Sloan Lung and Josephine Bennett; brothers, Tony and Donald Auskalnis; and many special friends, especially Aggie, Becky and Pete.
She is survived by her daughter Elinor McKeon; grandsons Michael Bayliss, David McKeon and Patrick McKeon; granddaughters Elizabeth McKeon and Jennifer Vath; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
A Christian burial Mass was held for Anna at Holy Spirit Church in New Orleans. Interment will be at 10 a.m. June 1 at St. Peter St. Paul Cemetery, Westville.
For those who knew Anna, you know she lived a full and rich life. She is greatly missed.
