KERRVILLE, Texas —
Kevin M. Ray, 58, of Kerrville, peacefully passed to go home on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, after bravely fighting cancer for 2½ years.
Kevin was born May 2, 1955, in Munster, Germany. He was the son of George Edward Ray and Mildred Lou Salb.
Kevin lived in Danville, Ill., until he graduated from Danville High School in 1974. After graduating, he served from June 1974 to June 1978 in the U.S. Army. Upon his completion of serving his country, he went into nursing for 30 years at the Veterans Administration hospital in Danville.
Kevin was an avid high school and professional football and NASCAR fan. He was loved by everyone who knew him, and he never knew a stranger; all were his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Ray.
Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his sister, Melinda Stokes, and her husband, Sonny, of Ingram, Texas, formerly of Weslaco, Texas; and his twin brother, Kenneth Ray, and his wife, Lupita Ray, of Corpus Christi, Texas.
There will be no services held at this time.
The family suggests donations in his name be made to the Cancer Society.
