Rod Edward Heiser, 76, of Champaign, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at his home.
He was born in Davenport, Iowa, on Aug. 5, 1930, to Lloyd E and Harriet Ferguson Heiser. Mr. Heiser graduated from Danville High School, class of 1948, and from Danville Junior College School of Medical Technology. He was a registered medical laboratory technologist. Mr. Heiser’s career included: pharmaceutical sales representative for Merck Corporation, director of the Danville Elks Blood Bank and over 20 years at Carle Clinic Laboratory. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1950.
Mr. Heiser is survived by his wife, Sue; a son, Robert (Barbara) of Plymouth, Wis.; five daughters, Nancy (Milton) Dalenberg of Indianola, Carol (Michael) Ridens
of Covington, Ind., Christine (Randy) Spitz of Monticello, Gail Slade of Alton and Paula (John) Brazas of Covington, Ind.; his first wife, Doris of Georgetown; a brother, Donald of Laramie, Wyoming; and 12 grandchildren.
In keeping with Mr. Heiser’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Services will be private. Morgan Memorial Home, Savoy is handling arrangements.
Friends wishing to honor Rod’s memory may make a donation to the Carle Clinic Cancer Center Education and Research Fund, the Champaign Public Library Building Fund or the Champaign County Humane Society.
