Mary L. Peterson, 92, of Danville, passed away on May 9, 2014, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville.
Mary was born the daughter of John and Pearl (Nail) Good on May 28, 1921, in Paris. Mary married John Peterson on Feb. 17, 1940, in Williamsport, Ind. He preceded her in death. Surviving is one daughter, Nancy (Robert) Linn of Oakwood; two grandchildren, Roben (Kyle) Durand of Marietta, Ga., and Courtney(John) Dudley of Oakwood; and four great-grandchildren, Mauri and Kyla Durand and Jackson and Carsen Dudley.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and Clyde; three sisters, Elsie, Ann and Ruth; and a special sister-in-law Stella.
Mary was a member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and was a great pie maker.
A Celebration of Mary’s life will be held at Sunset’s Oakwood Chapel on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Kim Dancy. A visitation will be held at Sunset’s Oakwood Chapel on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. Memorials can be made in Mary’s name to the Oakwood United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School.
