VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — Jenny Lee Hayman, 79, passed away at 10:25 p.m. EDT Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at her residence near Veedersburg, Ind.
Mrs. Hayman was born Oct. 25, 1934, in Chattsworth, Ill., the daughter of Leonard Brooks and Nona Virginia (Taylor) Harvey.
She married Charles E. Hayman Dec. 5, 1951, in Sterling, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Hayman, Nov. 17, 2003; daughter Aimee Elaine Waldron, April 6, 2003; four brothers; and one sister.
Surviving family include five daughters, Cindi Ellis of Veedersburg, Virginia Hayman of Veedersburg, Rebecca (Aaron) Barnhill of Grandin Mo., Mary (Richard) Powell of Veedersburg, and Marcia (Bob) Hannon, Attica; three sons, Ronald Hayman (fiancé, Kim Cunningham) of Wingate, Ind., Robert Hayman of West Lafayette, Ind., and Charles (Robyn) Hayman, Georgetown; two sisters, Florence Northcutt of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Vicki Wagoner, Plainfield, Ind.; brother Mike (Diana) Harvey, Spencer, Ind.; 27 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Jenny graduated from Veedersburg High School. She had been employed as secretary at Hayman’s Garage and was more recently employed 16 years at The Waters of Covington prior to her retirement. She was an active member of Sterling Christian Church and member of the Covington Chapter O.E.S.
Jenny enjoyed reading books, working different types of puzzles, dancing, fishing and being outdoors. Most of all, she loved and enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. EDT Sunday, May 4, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg, Ind. O.E.S service will begin at 7:45 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service is 1 p.m. EDT Monday, May 5, at Dickerson Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Ind.
