Sharon Kay Curry, 71, of Danville, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, in her home, surrounded by her family.
A gathering of family and friends will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., in Danville.
Sharon was born on Dec. 30, 1942, in Danville to Carl and Lois (Knerr) Van Duyn.
She attended Diamond and Oakwood schools. Sharon worked at Bohn Aluminum for over 16 years until her health forced her to retire in the 1980s. Sharon loved to garden and plant flowers, do puzzles and crochet, and was an Elvis Freak. Holidays were very important to her, especially Christmas, and she loved spending time with her family.
Sharon married Truman “Tony” Curry on Aug. 6, 1982, in Danville, and he survives.
She also leaves behind three daughters, Stacey Hannan, Dina Jumps and Kayla (Tom) Witsman; six grandchildren, Daphne Hannan (Jason Atwood), Adam (Hannah) Witsman, Tabitha (Jeff) Roberts, Whitney (Keith) Pratt, Courtney Warren (Donald Crews) and Zachary (Mandy) Wills; eight great-grandchildren with another one on the way; and three brothers, Charles (Linda) Van Duyn, Dennis (Mary) Van Duyn and Robert Van Duyn. Sharon also leaves behind her puppies Sugar, Rocky and Janis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin Hannan; a grandson, Joshua Witsman; a brother-in-law, Greg Curry; a sister-in-law, Laura Van Duyn; and her dog Buttons.
