---- — TILTON — Wilmetta “Billie Mae” Wear, 80, of Tilton, passed away in the comfort of her home at 4:02 p.m. Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014.
Billie Mae was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Danville to William F. Cox and Elizabeth Ruth Crimmins.
She married William “Benny” Wear on Jan. 3, 1954, in Danville. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Skip (Suzi) Wear of Catlin; three grandchildren, Sarah (Scott) Ellison of Bismarck, Cole (Jennifer) Wear of Catlin and Emily (David) Ruwe of Catlin; six great-grandchildren, Emma, Noah, Ava and Bella Ellison of Bismarck and Eli and Evie Wear of Catlin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Cox; and two sisters, Maggie Bott and Gladys Stanley.
Billie Mae graduated from Danville High School. She worked in bookkeeping at Carson Pharmacy, Palmer Bank Trust Department and retired from South View Middle School District 118 after 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 53 years and Central Park Church of Christ.
She enjoyed reading, playing solitaire and watching birds, especially hummingbirds. She loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with Pastor Wade Martin officiating. Burial in: Oakridge Cemetery, Catlin. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Robison Chapel, Catlin.
