Deborah “Debbie” Sue (McBride) Wilson, 64, of Sanford, Fla., formerly of Hoopeston and Highland, Ind., passed away at 5:37 p.m. EDT Friday, July 19, 2013, at the Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Debbie was born on March 26, 1949, in Gary, Ind., the daughter of Chester and Lois P. (Hicks) McBride.
She is survived by one son, Michael (Carolyn) Wilson of Sanford, Fla.; sister, Lois (George) Peterson of Danville; niece, Patricia (Terry) McCord of Danville; nephew, George M. (Lori) Peterson of Catlin; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Debbie graduated from Merrillville High School in 1967. She worked as a telephone operator at Illinois Bell for over 30 years until she retired in 1995. Debbie enjoyed cats, playing bingo and crafting.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Wolfe-Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac, with Father Ted Pracz officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
