ROCKVILLE, Ind. —
Robert Dale Jumps, 71, of Rockville, Ind., died at 3:45 a.m. EDT Sunday, July 21, 2013, in his residence.
He retired in 2003 from Hyster of Danville.
He was born July 13, 1942, in Rileysburg, Ind., to the late William Kermit Jumps and Mary Hazel Newell Jumps.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Helen Minick Jumps, whom he married June 7, 1963, in Sterling, Ind.
Also surviving are two daughters, Luann Ping of Perrysville, Ind., and Ronda (Jim) Foster of Rockville, Ind.; two brothers, Richard (Diana) Jumps of Perrysville, Ind., and Russell Jumps of Perrysville, Ind.; one sister, Rita Freed of Rockville, Ind.; five grandchildren, Matthew Foster, Nathan (Brittany) Ping, Brandon Ping, Raeann Sutherlin and Makenzie Foster; his father-in-law, Angus Minick of Stone Bluff, Ind.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Darrel W. Ping Jr. on June 23, 2013.
He was a 1960 graduate of Perrysville High School. He was a member of the Rockville Christian Church, was an avid sports fan who loved Indiana University basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. He truly adored his daughters and grandchildren.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, July 24, in Gooch Funeral Home at 112 W. Howard St., Rockville, with the Rev. Don Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Lower Mound Cemetery, north of Perrysville. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. EDT Tuesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
