SAN ANTONIO, Texas —
Sarah Frances Rowe, 69, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Danville, Ill., passed away at 3:05 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at her home.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, at Alvin Church of God, 109 S. St., Alvin. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams, Danville. Burial will be in Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck.
Memorials may be made in Sarah’s name to The American Diabetes Association.
Sarah was born on March 20, 1944, in Hazard, Ky., to Gilbert and Dorothy (Dunn) Crank.
She attended Kalamazoo, Mich., schools and went on to work at ATI/Continental Filling and Bridal Veil.
She was a member of Legacy Church of God in Wichita Falls, Texas, and was a 25-year member of the Harmonettes, a gospel singing group. Sarah enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sarah married Charles Rowe on Feb. 27, 1959. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Sarah leaves behind five children, Stora (Jim) Rowe-Bousquet, Dorothy (Randy) Rowe, Betty (Mike) Rowe, Charlene Rowe and Mary Rowe; 10 grandchildren, Terry, Jessica, Ria, Demetria, Wil, April, Steven, Jimmy, Kayla and Emily; 13 great-grandchildren; six brothers, J.C. Crank, Bobby Crank, Curt Crank, Frank Crank, Gary Crank and Grayland Crank; and five sisters, Delores Rich, Stora Felix, Sondra Metcalf, Susan Thornberry and Sheila Crank.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Chuck; and two sisters, Janette Fergason and Edith Thornberry.
