Rebecca A. San Miguel


POTOMAC — Rebecca A. San Miguel, 39, of Potomac, passed away at 6:34 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at home.

Rebecca was born on Sept. 26, 1973, in Danville, the daughter of Bruce and Pamela Kay (Gildersleeve) Owens.

She married Michael San Miguel on Oct. 16, 1999, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Penfield. He survives.

She also is survived by one daughter, Paige Elizabeth San Miguel; one son, Michael Thomas San Miguel; three brothers, Matthew S. Owens of Potomac, Deron L. (Brandy) Owens of Henning and Troy D. Owens of Armstrong; paternal grandfather, Bob Owens of New Holland; maternal grandfather, Oral Gildersleeve of Rockville, Ind.; three uncles, Denis, Stan and Daryl Gildersleeve; four nieces, Maci, Jordyn, Mattisyn and Devyn; and four nephews, Joshua, Tory, Kinman and Benny.

She was preceded in death by two grandmothers, Elizabeth Gildersleeve and Oka Owens; and an uncle, Ronald Dean Gilderlseeve.

Rebecca was a member of the Middlefork United Methodist Church, Penfield-Gifford American Legion 1153 Auxiliary and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed reading, writing, shopping with her mom, spending time on Facebook and, most of all, she loved spending time with her family and children.

A celebration of Rebecca’s life will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Middlefork United Methodist Church in Potomac, with Jane Cade officiating. Burial will follow the service in Potomac Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Paige E. and M. Thomas San Miguel Education Fund at the University of Illinois Employees Credit Union, 2201 S. First St., Champaign, IL 68120.

The family has entrusted Wolfe-Blurton Funeral Home of Potomac to assist them and to honor Rebecca’s life.
