HAVANA, Ill. —
Mickey C. Wills, 65, of Havana, Ill., passed away at 7:48 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at his residence.
He was born July 16, 1947, in Danville, to Jack and Mary Ellen Covert Wills.
He married Shirley Thomas Staltz on March 10, 2012, in Havana.
She survives along with his mother, Mary Ellen Miller of Normal; daughters, Whitney Newell of Danville and Marcel Swinford of Martinvsville, Ind.; step-daughters, Julie (Craig Ivey) Staltz of Glasford, Ill., and Marlene (Brett) Greene of Lena, Ill.; brothers, Larry (Sandy) Wills of Bloomington, Ill., and Fred Wills of Georgetown; step-sister, Sue (John) Bracewell of Oakwood; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Wills, and step-father, Robert Miller.
Mickey worked in construction for 40 years. He retired from Schomburg & Schomburg in Danville in 2002. He was a Mason; he belonged to the Ansar Shriner’s and Gao Grotto in Danville. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed hunting and bass tournament fishing.
Cremation has been accorded and burial with graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Greenwood Cemetery in Danville for family and friends, followed by a reception celebrating his life at Ridgeview Baptist Church, 3838 N. Vermilion St., Danville.
Memorials may be made to Mason District Hospital in Havana, Gao Grotto in Danville or OSF Hospice Bloomington, Ill., in his name.
