OAKWOOD — Hubert A. “Hubie” Davis, 76, of Oakwood, passed away at 5:18 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at his home.
He was born Sept. 25, 1936, in Danville, to Harold and Martha Syers Davis. Hubert married Patsy J. Starkey on May 15, 1969, in Danville.
She survives as well as one son, David (Kandi) Davis of Davenport, Fla.; three daughters, Michelle (Leo) Jeffers of Fithian, Nancy (Kenneth) Strader of Oakwood and Peggy (Jerry) Montoya of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two sisters, Judith (Mervin) Starkey of Bismarck and Susan (Charles) Roderick of Bismarck; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was a machinist for NACCO in Danville for over 25 years. He enjoyed word search puzzles, watching old Westerns, sitting on the front porch and long car rides in the country.
The family wishes to acknowledge Carle Hospice and two of “Earth’s Angels,” Michaela Bryant and Bonnie Davis, for the loving care they provided to Hubert.
Funeral services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Charlie Jeffers will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday at Robison Chapel. Memorials can be made to the First Assembly of God Church in Danville.
