Jeanenne Patricia (Kelly) Fuentes, of Danville, passed away unexpectedly following a sudden illness Friday, July 11, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at Carle Foundation CCU in Urbana.
Jeanenne was born Aug. 14, 1940, in Danville to Harold J. and Fern E. Kelly. She lived her entire life in Danville and graduated from DACC with a nursing license.
She was the devoted wife of Fausto C. (David) Fuentes for 55 years until his death in September 2013. The couple were doting parents to Angie, Mario (Lindsay) and Matt (Judith) Fuentes, all of whom survive, and to Tony Fuentes Sr., who preceded them in death July 2013.
She cherished her grandchildren, J. Squires, John Snyder II, Maria Truitt, Anthony Fuentes Jr., Shiena Wilkens, Marco Gossar and Nikki Fuentes, who all survive and blessed her with many great-grandchildren.
In addition to raising her family, she was co-owner and operator of H&L Rug and Furniture Cleaners with her husband for 36 years. She also worked and retired from KIK Manufacturing in 2010 after 34 years where she met, enjoyed and kept numerous friends.
Jeanenne always excelled in everything she did and was warmly respected as well as loved by all who knew her. She was admired for her cheerful disposition, positive outlook and humorous witticisms. She always guided her family with an iron hand gloved in velvet. She was of strong Christian faith, ending each night with prayers for many.
She very much appreciated flowers, sunshine and happy music. Most of all, she enjoyed sharing food, stories and laughter with her family who will always fondly remember her as their “Queen Mum” and rightfully so.
A celebration of life for Jeanenne will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville. Father Deus Byomahangi will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 18, at the funeral home.
