EAST CARBON/SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — Lillian LaNora (Norman) Grider Cassano, 92, passed away peacefully July 5, 2014, in South Jordan, Utah.
She was born April 14, 1922 in Tangier, Ind., to Dora A. and Mabel M. Cummins Norman.
She married Cecil E. Grider Nov. 16, 1941, in Montezuma, Ind.; he died in a fishing accident on Utah Lake on May 19, 1963. She later married James Cassano April 26, 1975, in Price, Utah. He died on May 19, 1986.
Nora was a devout member of East Carbon Community Church since 1945. She served as a Sunday school teacher for 40 years, board member for over 35 years, youth leader and treasurer for 20 years. Nora retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years.
She was an avid outdoors woman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, river trips and rock hunting. Nora touched a great many people in her long life, and she will be remembered for her loving and caring spirit. She loved the Lord, her church, family and a community of friends. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. At Nora’s request, please, no flowers.
She is survived by her brother, Clarence Edwin Norman and his wife, Mary, of Newport, Ind.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James, David and Tom Norman; and sister, Barbara Matthews.
