CARMEL, Ind. — Lucille Jean (Abel) Brown, 93, of Carmel, formerly of Williamsport, died at 6:02 a.m. EDT Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Clare Bridge in Carmel.
Lucille was born May 28, 1921, in Chicago. She was the daughter of Edwin and Ida (Neidergang) Nyberg. She graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1939. She married Cecil Abel and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1960. She later married Lorenze Brown and he preceded her on Sept. 21, 1987.
Lucille lived in Williamsport from 1954 until 1989, when she moved to Carmel.
Lucille worked as an account manager for the insurance exchange. She had attended the Williamsport Christian Church and enjoyed playing golf, doing needlepoint, and was an avid reader.
Surviving are her children, Robert A. (Dee) Abel of Carmel, Donald K. (Karen) Abel of Columbus, Barbara (Bob) Murphy of Summerfield, Fla., and Beverly (Don) VanLeer and Betty (Ron) Williams, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her siblings, Jack Nyberg, Lorraine Marcon and Robert Nyberg.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. EDT until service time at 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the Williamsport Christian Church with Pastor Jesse Stoner officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport.
