Donald Pribble Jr., 66, of Danville, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, June 29, 2014, at his home.
A visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2212 N. Vermilion St., Danville, with honor guard by the Marine Corps. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at First Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Ken Pavlick officiating. Following services, Don will be laid to rest at Georgetown Cemetery next to his parents, with military honors by American Legion Post 210 and the Marine Corps.
Don was born July 17, 1947, in Danville, to Donald Lee and Marjorie Rae (Vinson) Pribble Sr.
He attended Georgetown schools and Danville Junior College, going on to enlist in the Marine Corps. Don owned Ace Hardware in Baton Rouge, La., for many years and has been co-owner of The Java Hut in Danville since 2001 with his wife, Marie. In his free time, Don enjoyed playing tennis, though his real hobby was greeting and talking with all of his Java Hut customers. He will be greatly missed by his patrons, employees, family and friends.
Don married Marie Svenson on June 20, 1992, in Baton Rouge and the two recently celebrated 22 wonderful years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife Marie; three stepsons, Edward Stonich, Jeffery Stonich and Troye Stonich (fiancé: Mary Beth Dwyer); and many, many close friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents.
