Nancy A. (Baum) Runner, 75, of Danville, passed away at 11:16 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
The daughter of John and Blanche (Stuebe) Baum, she was born on Sept. 24, 1938, in Danville. She later married Allen Runner on Feb. 12, 1961. He survives.
Also surviving Nancy are her two children, James Runner of Danville and Kari (Jeff) Peelman of Danville; six grandchildren, Brandon (Kaylee) Runner, and Chad, Tyler and Clara Runner, and Alissa and Cody Peelman; and three great-grandchildren, Liam, Jonah and Aiden Runner.
Nancy worked as a nurse for 23 years in the ICU in Danville until her retirement in 2003. She loved to travel, especially ocean cruises, and she and her husband Allen were planning to go on one in September to Hawaii. Nancy always loved watching her grandchildren play sports, and whether it was playing softball or soccer, she was there to cheer them on. Nancy loved her family and instilled many great memories that they will cherish forever.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the funeral home. Nancy’s family asks that memorials be made in her name to Lake View College of Nursing.
