Toni Lynn Owensby-Wright, 60, of Danville passed away at 11:40 a.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams, Danville, with Pastor Connie Bandy officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Pape’s. Memorials may be made to Relay for Life or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Entombment will be at Sunset Cemetery.
Toni was born Sept. 23, 1953, in Danville to Thomas and Violet (Foley) Owensby.
She attended First Baptist and McKinley Grade Schools and Danville High School, graduating in 1971. She then went on to get her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, majoring in accounting. Toni was an auditor for Walgreens in Danville for 33 years.
Toni was a member of Trinity Church of Christ in Westville. She also was a member of Faith in Action and a member of Relay for Life for 25 years. In her spare time, Toni enjoyed shopping and crocheting. Most of all, she enjoyed sharing laughs with her many friends.
Toni married Joseph Wright on July 4, 1992, in Danville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2009.
She is survived by her friends, Shawna Boyer of Chrisman, Carle Faber of Danville, Kathleen Marriage of Hegeler and Terri Enos of Tilton; three brothers-in-law, Ricky Johnson and Larry Johnson, both of Tilton, and David Johnson of Shelbyville, Ind.; and many other special friends. She was preceded by her loving husband; her parents; one brother, Tommy Owensby; one sister, Sherry Page; and one sister-in-law, Louella Brandon.
