Gordon Mullins

DANVILLE — Gordon Mullins, 83, of Danville, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the Ben Hur Home in Crawfordsville, Ind.

Mr. Mullins was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Danville. He also was a member of the Shrine and Masonic Lodge GAO Grotto, where he served two terms as Monarch and received his 50-year pin.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was a carpenter, meat cutter at Kroger and did maintenance at the hospitals in Danville.

Born Aug. 18, 1929, in Danville, he was the son of Grover Mullins and Jessie Pollitt Mullins.

He was a 1948 graduate of Oakwood High School.

He married Delena Hill Bogart Mullins. She passed away Oct. 17, 2008.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Bogart Little, Salem, Ore.; daughter-in-law, Brenda Bogart, Crawfordsville; brother, Darrell (Virginia) Mullins, Gladstone, Mich.; four grandchildren, Tracy (Tony) Hooley of Crawfordsville, Dea Little of Salem, Ore., James Bogart of Oldenberg, Ind., and Megan Little, China. He also had seven great-grandchildren, Bailey Emberton, Savannah Bogart, Alivia Beckley, Lela Bogart, Petra Bogart, Samuel Bogart and Chloe Zhang; as well as his dog, Teddy.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Bill Bogart; brothers, Caleb, Grover, Otis, Lawrence and Homer Mullins; and sisters, Jessie “Irene” Mullins and Armeda LeClair.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. (Central time) Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Danville, led by Rev. Dr. Jimmy Hopper. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a Masonic service. Arrangements were made through Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville.
