---- — FAIRMOUNT — Ralph F. Oehlsen, 77, of Fairmount, passed away at 7:03 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Ralph was born March 12, 1936, in Chicago to Frank and Myrtle Becker Oehlsen.
He married Karen Williamson on Nov. 4, 1961, in Chicago.
She survives, as well as three sons, Jeffrey Oehlsen of San Antonio, Texas, Glenn (Emily Egge) Oehlsen of Silver City, N.M., and Todd Oehlsen of Anna, Ill.; a daughter, Nadia Oehlsen of Chicago; five grandchildren, Samantha Oehlsen, Lukas Phillips, Abigail Oehlsen, Oscar Oehlsen and Solomon Oehlsen; and one cousin, Janet(Lon) Bendler of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Ralph had worked at the Danville Commercial-News for many years. After retirement, he drove for Illini Swallow for 15 years and the Carle Hospital Shuttle for three years.
He enjoyed his grandchildren, computers, camping. Ralph especially loved jazz music.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at New Hope Community Church in Fairmount with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Visitation: 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. A time of reflection and refreshments will follow the service in the church fellowship area.
