TILTON — Roy Merlin Johnson, 72, of Tilton, passed away at 6:27 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Presence USMC Medical Center.
He was born on May 6, 1941, in Catlin, the son of Harry and Violet Wright Johnson. He married Dorothy Ann Walsh on July 12, 1970, in Danville. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Violet Johnson of Danville; three sons, Roy Michael Johnson of Tilton, Michael Patrick (Marti) Johnson of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Thomas Wayne Johnson of Wisconsin; one daughter, Julie Ann (Kent) O’Connor of Livingston, Mont.; one brother, Harry (Dorothy) Johnson Jr. of Alabama; three sisters, Phyllis (Kenny) McNeese of Tilton, Peggy Kammin of Bradenton, Fla., and Linda Johnson of Danville; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Roy served four years in the Air Force. He worked at Lebanon Chemical as a maintenance supervisor for 32 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and gardening. He loved training his dogs and playing solitaire on the computer. He was a hero to his family.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Burial will be in Allhands Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Robison Chapel in Catlin.
