SIDELL — Julia E. Patton, 96, of Sidell, departed this life at 8:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville.
She was born Sept. 8, 1917, in the farming community of Sidell to Ned and Eva Watson McDowell.
She married Chester Patton on Aug. 18, 1936, in Danville.
Julia now rests in peace with the angels in heaven and joins with her husband, who preceded her in death on March 22, 1986.
Julia is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Joe H.) Baldwin of Hot Springs, Ark., and Pamela Howell of Oakland, Tenn. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Leslie McDowell of Winchester, Ky., Roger Baldwin of Diamond, Ill., and Tracy Howell Cheney of Arlington, Tenn.; and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Howell Cheney, Katie Schill, Ellyn Schill and Dougal Meakin.
Julia’s life was spent dedicated to the world of farming and maintaining the beloved family farm home in Sidell, where she began her life 96 years ago.
