DANVILLE — Larry Lewis Wyer, 68, of Danville, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville.
He was born March 6, 1945, in Danville, the son of Jesse and Margaret Cheesman Wyer.
He married Karen Coonse on Nov. 4, 1968, in Danville. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Stacey Wyer Benson of Danville and Wendy Wyer Quick of Tilton; three brothers, Edward “Leo” (Shirley) Wyer of Danville, Jesse (Shirley) Wyer Jr. of Oakwood and James “Collie” (Cindy) Wyer of Grape Creek; one sister, Mildred (Bill) Johnson of Danville; six grandchildren, Raven Benson Thompson, Joseph Benson II, Christopher Benson, Nicklas Benson, Dawson Quick and Margaret Quick; three great-grandchildren, Nalieha Thompson, Romeo Thompson and Arieonna Bryant. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clarence “Mike” Wyer; and one sister, Matilda “Tillie” Wyer.
Larry enjoyed driving and working on cars. He enjoyed going to flea markets and never met a stranger. He loved to help people and everybody loved him. He especially loved going fishing with his grandkids.
Funeral service: 10 a.m. Friday Oct. 18, at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Burial in the Danville National Cemetery. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday Oct. 17, at Robison Chapel.
