COVINGTON, Ind. —
Dick Duane Leach, 64, of Covington, passed away at 12:20 a.m. EDT Sunday, June 16, 2013, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Williamsport, Ind.
He was born June 22, 1948, in Vigo County, Ind., the son of Orlando J. and Mabel Ruth (Bennett) Leach.
He was married to Sharon Suttles in Covington, Ind. Sharon preceded him in death.
Surviving him are three sons, Monty Leach of Williamsport, Christopher Leach of Covington and Ryan Leach of Covington; two daughters, Marie (Carl) Williams of Covington and Casey Leach of Covington; three grandchildren, Alexis Williams, Arity Williams and Alexus Leach.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Dick served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969. He received training at Camp Polk, La. Dick also served three tours in Vietnam. Dick earned the rank of staff sergeant.
Dick worked at Olin-Flexel from 1973 until retiring in 1997. He also enjoyed wood carving and outdoor activities.
A celebration of life memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday, June 22, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Ind., with military honors. A visitation will be 10-10:45 a.m. EDT prior to the service at Sunset’s Covington Chapel.
