ALOHA, Ore. —
Mary L. (Lenover) Klaus, 61, of Aloha, Ore., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at her home surrounded by her beloved husband, best friend and a family member. She fought a brave battle with cancer.
She was born April 21, 1952, in Danville, to Robert L. Lenover, who survives, and Dorothy Crawford Lenover. She also is survived by her brother, David (Simphi) Lenover of Danville; sister, Laura Broderick of Lakeland, Fla.; and brother-in-law, John Schutt of Denver, Colo.; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded by sisters, Rena E. Schutt and Rachel A. Lenover; mother, Dorothy M. Lenover; grandparents, Lester and Elizabeth Lenover and Grace Webb.
She married David Klaus on June 21, 1971, in Portland, Ore. They had been together since they were 15 years old and were true soul mates.
Mary worked as an Information Technology technician for three large firms (Mentor Graphics, Techtronics and Synopsys) with many years and many friends from each.
Mary lived her life well, loving her husband, many friends and family and receiving much love in return. She was a kind, gentle soul who will be missed immeasurably. She enjoyed nature, gardening and feeding the birds. She also enjoyed sewing and making small crafts like her squeaky dog toys and bird houses. She was so very thoughtful and generous in a quiet humble way.
A memorial service for her family and friends in Illinois will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at the Songer Pavilion on Lake Vermilion, Danville, to honor her life. A memorial service will be held July 20 in Portland, Ore.
