David Anthony Gouty, 57, of Danville, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at his home.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Pape Memorial Home, 10 E. Williams St. in Danville, with Lee Cronkhite officiating. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
David was born Nov. 10, 1955, in Danville to Jim and Patsy (White) Gouty.
He attended Danville area grade schools and Danville High School. David was a custodian at Westville High School, and enjoyed doing painting and carpentry side jobs, as well as landscaping at home.
He loved to go to Turkey Run canoeing, jumping off cliffs and walking trails. He also enjoyed fishing, dancing, shooting pool and playing dice and cards with his favorite nephew, Scott.
David leaves behind five children, Latosha Gouty, Alaina Gouty, Joey McQueen (Sarah), Baron Gouty (Kristy) and Jerry Gouty; 10 grandchildren, Nolan and Amiya Bolton, Tevin McQueen, Kyler Modglin, Kaleb, Carter and Bentley McQueen, Lily Gouty, Baron Gouty Jr., and one on the way. Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph Gouty and Mark Gouty (Mary Anna); and four sisters, Pamela Jones, Patricia Howard (Gilbert), Crystal Dicken (Rusty) and Brenda Houldridge. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Alan Houldridge.
